JOHN S. HUMPHREYS was a Mormon Clubber and Shooter and was a Fifher
in one of the Iron County Militia platoons in Cedar City; Born: 1826, England.
The source who identifies Humphreys as being at Mountain Meadows was William Bishop, John D. Lee's attorney. Lee himself does not mention
Humphreys in any of his statements. Since Bishop's "list of assassins"
virtually always follows Lee in identifying massacre participants it is
possible that Lee advised Bishop in their talks that Humphreys was at the
site.
